Calvin Johnson Catch Ruled Incomplete: See Why! VIDEO! PHOTO!

With 24 seconds to go in the Chicago Bears – Detroit Lions game, Lion’s WR, Calvin Johnson pulled down a deep pass into the end zone, for what looked to be a touchdown. Johnson caught the ball, got his two feet in bounds, but after going to the ground, and after having control of the ball the entire time, the ground forced the ball out of his hands. The ruling; Incomplete. Many fans are absolutely outraged with the call, but rules are rules, and the correct call was made. Tip: See video on Youtube.

According to a Fox video, Rule 8 Section 1 Article 4 Item 1 states that a player must physically catch the ball, and hold onto the ball, until the play is over, for the ball to be considered a catch. Clearly, Johnson dropped the ball, after the ‘catch’ was made. Now, many will argue that the play is over when the initial catch was made, and the feet were placed on the ground, for a would-be touchdown. Problem is, the definition of the play being over isn’t clearly stated, which is why many people are upset with the call.

When it all comes down to it, Rule 8 Section 1 Article 4 Item 1 is clearly laid out. Whether you agree with the rule or not, is a different situation. I for one, believe that the rule was created to bypass a referee from deciding whether or not the ball was in the players control long enough to be ruled a catch. Fact of the matter is, you don’t want games being determined by referees, you want them being determined by players, and I believe this rule was created to do just that. By the way, the Bears beat the Lions 19 – 14.

Inez Sainz Pictures: Harrassed by Jet’s Players?

Inez Sainz is said to be one of the hottest reporters in Mexico, and it seems that selective players for the New York Jet’s NFL football team would have to agree. Recently, Sainz took a visit to one of the Jet’s practices for an interview with their Quarterback, Mark Sanchez.

According to College News, Sainz waited on the sidelines, while the players practiced. During the practice, it’s said that many passes were purposely thrown in Sainz’s direction. Later, in the locker room, Sainz claims to have been harassed with suggestive comments, by unnamed Jet’s players.

Recently, Sainz posted this comment on here Twitter account, “Thanks everyone for your support. I already spoke to the NFL, which will decide if there will or will not be consequences. I can say that at the time I didn’t want to pay attention to what was happening but the rest of the media heard clearly and in solidarity have denounced what happened, hoping that there is always a respectful climate.” The NFL is currently looking into the issue.

If you’re interested, pictures of Sainz can be found here: provided by Google Images. Information for the above post was obtained by College News and Sun Times. Feel free to leave your comments below.

Legarrette Blount Punches Eric Bakhtiari + Byron Hout Video!

We all remember when Oregon Ducks’ LeGarrette Blount punched out Boise State’s Byron Hout. Then, after punching out Hout, Blount proceeded to attempt to fight with crowd members, during his escort out of the stadium. Okay, so Blount’s actions weren’t nearly as bad as the actions of the players on the Pacers and Pistons NBA basketball teams. Still, because of his actions, Blount was suspended and became notorious for his actions against Hout, shown in the video below.

Today, reports are coming in from the Huffington Post, along with numerous other reports from other sources, that LeGarrette Blount is back to his punching ways for a second time. This time, the Huffington Post reports that Blount, who’s currently in training camp with the NFL team, the Tennessee Titans, punched defensive end, Eric Bakhtiari. This time though, Blount will not be punished for his actions. Pushing and shoving ensued between the two players, when Blount threw a right at Bakhtiari’s helmet.

Before leaving the field, Blount apologized to coach Fisher for his actions, and released this statement, “That was my past. It just came up again. I got into one of those situations where the defense pushed me too far. With training camp and everything going the way it is and being as intense as it is and me being a rookie, it was just something I shouldn’t have done. But I did it.” As long as Blount keeps his cool during an actual game, things should be fine. But if Blount continues to become upset over a little pushing and shoving, he’s going to have a difficult time keeping himself under control in an actual game.

In the video, (it seems to be a 3rd down play), when Brandon Jacobs (running back for the Giants) accidentally knocked Manning’s helmet loose. Manning was then hit from behind by Calvin Pace (Jets). Then Manning was hit again from the front by another Jets player. Closeup replays suggest that the glove of the player scrapped against Manning’s face, causing it to bleed. After being hit, Manning almost instantly covered the cut. He then ran to the sidelines where a trainer covered his cut with a towel.

Manning was removed from the game, and the Giants settled for a field goal. It was later stated that Manning had to get the cut stitched up. Giants ended up beating the Jets 31 to 16, scoring 14 points in the 4th quarter.

Mexico vs Spain August 11, 2010 DETAILS

Mexico will vs Spain in a friendly soccer match, August 11th, 2011, at exactly 21:00 PM BST. The game will be held in Mexico City, at the Estadio Azteca. Top Paying Ideas reports that the game tonight should be a good one. As you probably already know, Spain won this year’s World Cup, and Mexico was eliminated in Round 16.

Many people will be looking for live streaming of tonight’s game. We advise you to look for sources of names the sporting world is familiar with. A source like ESPN is great for live streaming, if available for this game. But we take the time now to warn you that many sources aren’t so great for a live stream of the game, and may in fact be viruses.

Mexico World Cup Blog recently commented on the game, “While it won’t be the highest level match played(teams are asking for many substitutions to be allowed) both teams do arrive with their best players. This will be Spain’s first match post-World Cup and most of those medal-bearing players will be at the Azteca. Yes, even the Barcelona players.” Remember, the match between Mexico and Spain will take place August 11th, 2010, at 21:00 PM BST, at Estadio Azteca, in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Reds Cardinals Brawl video is becoming an overnight Youtube sensation, as any regular sports brawl would be. If you watch the video, (which has since then been removed from Youtube), you can see Brandon Phillips (Top Picture) (Reds) coming up to bat. As he approaches the plate, Yadier Molina (Bottom Picture) (Cardinals) begins trash talking Phillips. Phillips then removes his batting helmet and Molina his catcher’s mask. As the couple was exchanging words, the dugouts for both teams took towards the field.

Once the players for both teams were on the field, things seemed to be somewhat under control. But before players for both teams could exit to their respective dugouts, pushing and shoving began taking place. The TV announcer stated, “And now Scott Roland is gettin’ into it.” More pushing and shoving began, leading to Johnny Cueto being pinned against the backstop, kicking and shoving, in an attempt to free himself.

At the end of the brawl, St. Louis Cardinal’s catcher, Jason LaRue was injured with bruised ribs, and a minor concussion. Managers for both teams were ejected from the game. Currently, the video footage of the brawl is under review. Suspensions ar ecurrently pending, reports Associated Content.

College Football Preseason Coaches’ Poll Rankings: TOP 24!

TUSCALOOSA, AL - APRIL 17: One of the 96,000 Alabama Crimson Tide fans that attended the Alabama spring football game at Bryant Denny Stadium on April 17, 2010 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. (Photo by Dave Martin/Getty Images)

The College Football season is just around the corner and the preseason coaches’ poll has been released. I wasn’t able to find a list of the team ratings, but I was able to compile some information from the Huffington Post.

Alabama sits in the #1 spot. Ohio State ranks #2. Florida #3. Texas #4. Boise State #5. Virginia Tech #6. TCU #7. Oklahoma #8. Nebraska #9. Iowa #10. Oregon, Wisconsin, Miami, Penn State and Pittsburgh rank #11 – #15. LSU, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Arkansas and Florida State, rank #16 – #20. Georgia #21. Oregon State #22. Auburn #23. Utah #24 (Huffington Post).

As an Oregon State fan, it’s nice to finally see the team rank in the top 24. Usually, the Beavers rank 25 – 35, or at least, it’s seemed that way the past few years. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m looking forward to the up and coming college football season. I will be heading to 2 games myself.

But, as the poll sits, many people are throwing up their red flags. What do you think about this year’s rankings? Obviously, everyone has their opinion, and as some people can totally agree with the poll, others will pick at it until the up and coming season begins. As always, I’d imagine to be hearing a lot of “told-you-so’s” this season. What do you think? Do you see any major problems in the poll?
